Old KBC helmet I had laying around . it was a Yamaha Yellow / White and Silver ,, that wasn't going to work on a bright red and white Suzuki , so I painted it to match the bike , Everyone who seen it loves it and they all ask where I got the red/white & silver reflective vynle tape stickers that almost glow in the dark ,, Well I made the stripes and I will show you how,

1st the basic helmet red with white stripe down the middle is paint , the black flames are paint, all the red / white & silver trim /taping is " Reflector Safety Tape"  comes in a 3" X 30" roll at Wal -Mart $1.97 ,, they have all three colors in the boating section they also have this safety tape in yellow and orange..

To give you a idea of how well they reflect ,, all the pictures of the helmet were taken in my living room at around 2:30a.m. with no lighting except the flash of the camera.

The tape comes in 3 inch wide roll , so you will need to cut it in the width you need , in my case 1/8" to 1/4" was used, to cut the tape you will need a clip board , a roll of masking tape ,  a exacto knife , and a ruler that has a metal edge , " it MUST have a metal edge to cut against"

cut the 3 inch tape the lenght of the clip board , tape it down at the ends and along the middle with masking tape so it does not move around while cutting,

Next lay the ruler out to the width of the stripe you want to cut , the METAL edge of the ruler must go against the edge your cutting,

Next place the exacto knife against the metal egde of the ruler ,, hold the ruler tight against clip board with one hand and cut your stripe with the other hand,,

All and all this was pretty simple , I guess I could of got serious and used vise grips or something to clamp the ruler in place for a dead on cut , but I am pretty steady with my hands.

This tape sticks like hell ,, lay it out softly where you want it and dont press it down to hard till it is in the right spot ,, then rub it in ,, it will stick great, I scuffed it lightly and hit it with a flex adhesive then I clear coated it with no problems ..

The SouthPark "Kenny" I air brushed on real quick for giggles..

So if you try this out Good Luck , it was more time than anything , but you can see I went nuts on this helmet. ,, remember the exacto knife is razor sharp ,, if you don't have one they are also at Wal-Mart in the crafts fabric area about $2.00 ..

You can see I cut little flames out of it , the Suzuki "S" all kinds of stuff ,, it is very flexible and easy to work with.. just remember when laying it out not to pull it to tight it will stretch ,, if it stretch's it will discolor in the stretched out section..

Just one of my brain storms , that worked out good for me and eveyone who see's it ask about it so i thought I would share it ..
